Mieko is a Japanese ceramicist that emigrated to Sao Paulo in the 70’s. She had a huge influence on the ceramic work that took over a small mountain town in Sao Paulo called Cunha. The Japanese technique of high temperature glazing was brought to Cunha in the 1970s by Mieko Ukeseki.
