Foreign Reality

  Artist: Andres Zavala 22" x 29" 4 Color Serigraph, 2 Color Woodblock Print Magnani Pescia 300gsm Hand Deckled Bottom Edition of 44 -- Born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Andres Zavala studied at ELAOC where he completed his vocational Medical Assistant Program, and soon after returned to Pasadena City College where he has been working closely with Master Printer Stanley Baden, and other printmakers at the Pasadena Print Lab. His practice involves using a combination of different printmaking techniques, drawings and photographs to create accentuated imagery of his urban lifestyle, and to document the social constraints and conditions of the Los Angeles landscape and other gentrified areas. He is greatly inspired by weathered objects and the continuous change in architecture.
