COTTON CARNIVAL IKAT VEST

A carnival awaits you with this ikat weave colorful vest. This is a one of a kind, and so very unique!  This glorious combination of colors melds rich deep plum, goldenrod, marine blue, and cranberry in a large scale dreamy cotton ikat weave. There is a 40" chest measurement on this S/M garment. It's lined in soft cotton, has front patch pockets, and lots of style!  We've paired it with one of our long lace tube skirts and the Kagan blouse in grey floral. For festivals, frivolity and merrymaking whenever possible! Ikat fabrics have been made for 5,000 years, starting in Indonesia and Malay.  The labor-intensive technique was soon in demand and transported across Europe by the Dutch East India Company. That stunning Ikat pattern is created by resist dyeing sections of the yarns prior to weaving the fabric.  This vest is made from vintage ikat, more than 30 years old.
