Wood Ducks nest in cavities, high up in trees well away from water. When the young birds are a few days old, they jump - one by one - from the nest and follow their parent down to the water. Males are easily identified by their distinctively colored plumage - one of the most colorful waterfowl in California. Pen and ink rendering on Duralene film. Original art is approximately 8" x 10".
