Dipel is Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki (Btk) strain ABTS-351 (54%), a mix of fermentation solids, spores, and toxins that target caterpillars. After ingestion of spores and toxins, the pest stops eating within an hour and dies within a couple of days. Dipel is harmless to beneficial insects, animals, and humans. 4-hour re-entry (REI); 0-day pre-harvest interval (PHI); residue exempt; IRAC Group 11A.
