"Monumental Glow" - Original Artwork

Monumental Glow captures one of those fleeting Washington moments when the sky seems to light everything from within. I loved working with the contrast between the glowing sunset colors and the deep blues, and using thick texture to let the light feel almost alive across the scene. The monument and surrounding landmarks are grounded in the city, but the sky and reflections give the piece a more atmospheric, almost dreamlike feel. What I love most about this painting is that balance between structure and softness—the strength of these iconic forms set against all that color, movement, and glow.
