The appellation of Vosne-Romanée is a village appellation in the Côte de Nuits, produced from the communes of Vosne-Romanée and Flagey-Échezeaux. Producing only red wines from the pinot noir grape varietal, the surface area of the Vosne-Romanée appellation is: 96,96 Hectares. A bright red wine, ranging from ruby red to dark purple and often very deep in color. With a fiery red color sometimes garnet it approaches dark purple. The bouquet is often described as having ripe fruit with a touch of spice, accompanied by notes of strawberry, raspberry and cassis. These complex aromas often develop with age into notes of cherry brandy, leather and fur, and are reminiscent of a hunting satchel. On the palate the wine is velvety and distinct and we find the affluence pinot noir from this area has to offer. A wine worthy of aging, balanced tannins, richness and structure with a subtle attack.
