Basic Pistol: The Shooting Fundamentals Are you a new shooter with little to no shooting experience? Are you thinking about purchasing your first gun and don’t know where to start or where to go? Did you buy a pistol on a whim and it is now sitting in a box under your bed? The Sheepdog Response Basic Pistol course is designed for individuals like you. This comprehensive course will provide step-by-step instruction on handgun operation and safety, ensuring that you gain the knowledge and skills necessary to handle a pistol confidently and responsibly. The course will end with shooting exercises on our Smokeless Range virtual range system. This training will provide you with practical experience to prepare you for live fire training. It's a great course to take before any of our live fire courses at Sheepdog Response. Even if you have some shooting experience, the Basic Pistol course is a great refresher to get you back up to speed! Upon successful completion of The Basic Pistol Course, $150 of your registration fee will be credited to any of our follow-on live fire courses if you register within one calendar year of your completion date.
