Vivaldi’s Chamber Concerto in G minor, RV 107, is a vibrant example of his "concerto da camera" style—works written for a small ensemble of soloists without a full string orchestra. In these pieces, Vivaldi treats a group of mixed woodwinds (original orchestration) and strings as both the "orchestra" (ritornello) and the "soloists," constantly shifting roles between them. Unlike his solo concertos where one instrument dominates, RV 107 distributes the difficult passages evenly across the ensemble. This creates a "battle" (concertare) where each instrument takes turns in the spotlight.
