
Tiao Wei Cheng Qi Tang 調胃承氣湯
Rhubarb & Miribilatum Combination (interior-attacking formula) EFFECTS: relaxing the bowels and softening hardness; harmonizing the stomach and discharging heat. INDICATION: greater yang syndrome- aversion to heat after sweating; delirious speech; vexation and fullness in the middle; floating pulse. It's applied to urticaria; induced by gastrointestinal intoxication; delirious speech due to febrile diseases or constipation; swelling and pain of the throat; mouth and tongue sores; surging counterflow due to constipation; painful swollen gums; fetid mouth odor; red eves; headache. CLINICAL REFERENCE: This formula is mildest laxatives among three Major Rhubarb Combination(Cheng Qi Tang); with Radix et Rhizoma Rhei (Da Huang) promoting intestinal peristalsis and Natrii Sulfas (Mang Xiao) facilitating secretion of intestinal mucosa; combined to enhance each other, in addition to the alleviation effect by Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gan Cao) internally.
