Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque created a new style of art called Cubism in the early 1900's. Although it only lasted from 1907-1912, it changed art indefinitely. Picasso's Sunset is a nod to Picasso himself by using Basic Cubism. This piece was a color exploration of shapes, movement, and color through playing with new materials. My challenge was to use more yellow in my paintings as I'm naturally drawn to blues and pinks. It was a moment of shaking things up in the studio. Acrylic Mixed Media on paper 11x14in
