Red Velvet Scarf of Branches with Rain Drops Pattern
• One-of-a-kind:The dramatic contrast between sheer chiffon with a shimmering plush velvet pile is called devorè. The original pattern of a winter scene, with rain drops clinging to bare branches was made from solid velvet. A paste that removes some rayon pile and leaves the silk backing intact (devorè means to devour) was applied with a stencil. It is then dyed in a nighttime blue and hand-painted with dyes in a watercolor style that makes it true wearable art.• Washable:This scarf was washed as part of the dying and hand-painting process. A cold, gentle machine cycle followed by a hot dryer cycle will add to its softness. It may be ironed on the reverse side. •Measures 13"x60" (35cmx 157 cm):The sewn hems are rolled-edges.•The fabric is 100% silk backing with %100 rayon pile. All natural materials make it luxuriously soft.
