Kasuri 絣 is the Japanese style of ikat, where the threads of the material are resist-dyed before being woven. Hand sewn Boro patchwork made form Inigo dyed cotton. This was patched and reinforced with sashiko stitching. Boro is a Japanese form of recycling coming from an economic necessity in which fabric is patched on the reverse side to preserve the usability.
