Hagi Mizusashi (Magewappa) by Matsura Mugen | Water Jar for Tea Ceremony
Hagi Mizusashi crafted to resemble a Magewappa bent wood bucket by Matsura Mugen with lacquered wood lid. Hagi is an old and well respected style of ceramic teaware that began in the 1600s. The beauty of Hagi ware comes from the mellow earthen tones of the pottery combined with the lighter colors of the glaze. <Artist Biography> Matsura Mugen (1944-present) following in the footsteps of the late Living National Treasure Miwa Kyūwa 三輪休和 (10th generation), he entered the world of pottery.
