A Great Japanese Woodblock Print Kawarazaki Unsodo WATERMARK Chinese Peony
This is a very beautiful and special Japanese woodblock print “Chinese Peony” from the famous Taisho/Showa woodblock artist Kawarazaki Shodo (1889-1973) and published by the famous Unsodo Printmaker bearing the ORIGINAL UNSODO WATERMARK made in Showa Era. This is a woodblock print more than forty years old. This woodblock print is from my family seven-decade old collection of Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Art. The artist’s chop mark is at the upper right corner of this woodblock print. The publisher Unsodo’s chop mark, carver and printer’s marks are in the lower left border while the name of the flower “Chinese Peony” is in the upper left border.
