Ukiyoe Japanese Woodblock Print Shunga Erotic Bedroom Romance

Description & History- This is a very beautiful and special Japanese Erotic Shunga woodblock print made in 1950s IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.  This woodblock print is from Dr. BenHo family seven-decade Japanese woodblock prints and Asian Arts collections. Artist- unknown Medium- Japanese Woodblock Print Date of Creation- re-cut, 1950s Print Size- 12 1/2 x 9 inches Print Condition- Shunga is ancient Japanese erotic art.  Most of the Shunga we see today are pages from old books at sizes around 5 inches.  Most original individual Shunga are collected by private collectors and are hardly ever displayed today.   The only ones I have ever seen in public were at a museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This woodblock print looks like Utamaro’s artwork, but like most Shunga, this woodblock print does not have the artist’s signature on it.   This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the Japanese mulberry Washi paper.
