Silver GONDOR™ Double Crown

  THE RETURN OF THE KING™ A Double Thick Silver Coronation Coin This coronation coin was minted in Gondor to celebrate the coronation of Aragorn™ as King Elessar Telcontar. He is shown on the obverse riding a horse and holding a flag with the White Tree of Gondor. Surrounding Aragorn, inscribed in Tengwar: Elessar, Arwen, Gondor. The coin is a celebration of Aragorn’s coronation as well as his marriage to the Elf Arwen. On the reverse are brothers Isildur and Anárion holding a shield featuring the White Tree. They stand on Andúril (Flame of the West in Quenya), Aragorn’s sword forged from the shards of Narsil. Below it are the Sevens Stones Palantíri and the words, King Star and Year One. Above the brothers are the seven stars of the House of Elendil. This large silver coin was struck in the early years of Aragorn's rule when the need for a larger denomination Double Crown arose.
