Origin: Mexico   Solid Sterling Silver Pendant.    We searched many artisans throughout Mexico for a beautiful Aztec Calendar, and were lucky to find this incredibly detailed pendant in Taxco, Mexico. Crafted of Sterling Silver, this pendant is 25 mm, or approximately 1 inch in diameter. The pendant is actually two calendars, and looks identical on the back as on the front. This style is called "puff" pendant, or two sided. The edge of the pendant is sealed smoothly. The Aztec calendar was the calendar of the Aztec people of Pre-Columbian Mexico. It is one of the Mesoamerican calendars, sharing the basic structure of calendars from throughout ancient Mesoamerica.Also called the Mayan Calendar, it is divided into cycles and has been the subject of many theories regarding the "end of the world" on December 21, 2012.
