Vintage moroccan runner rug - red, pink - Boujad - 4.1x11.6feet / 126x354cm

How beautiful is this vintage Boujad runner rug!! While posting the pictures and video I realize that the rug should actually be read the other way, tiny tassels up just like the last pictures attached. Why that? There is a figure in the center of the rug that is probably a human figure (with head, arms, legs) probably a woman giving birth. We know that birth is one of the main topic when it comes to tribal moroccan rugs. That is confirmed by the diamond design with small dots inside that refer to pregnancy. The composition of the rug is completed by long chains of diamonds all over the central designs, and more abstract designs on the borders. You definitely get a glimpse of the berber culture with this tribal rug! Several tones of red as background color, with black and pink designs. The rug is handmade 100% and mix of wool and cotton.
