This is a vintage Japanese clay hot pot called a Donabe for cooking and serving traditional Japanese soup dishes. Typically the ingredients are cooked in the pot on a hotplate at the table. The guests take turns around the table cooking different vegetables and meat in the broth. Make happy warm memories sitting around the hot pot having a communal meal. This pot was used but is in verry good condition. This is the large kind of hot pot, grate for serving 2-4 geasts. it measurs 13" in diameter and 16" high.
