For incontinent residents heat sealed vinyl covers are available that prevent the migration of body fluids into the cushion. Several cushions are also offered with sewn covers that are water proof but in some situations fluids migrate into the foam through the stitching. Although standard polyester foam can be laundered, it takes several hours to rack dry.
