Agatized Coral

Coral reefs are made up of millions of creatures called polyps. Polyps build homes for themselves using calcium carbonate from the surrounding waters. Agatized coral has been the the official state stone of Florida since 1979. It is between 25-38 million years old and is the result of silica from ocean waters hardening, replacing the polyp’s exoskeleton with a form of chalcedony.  Agatized coral is a stone for emotional healing. It has the ability to create change in our lives and can calm and encourage the wearer. Agatized coral can be a perfect stone for people recovering from physical or mental trauma.
