Rare Antique Otto Heintz Sterling Silver Lily Bronze Plate
Antique, 1912 Sterling Lily, Bronze Plate Marked and Numbered 608. Approx. 7 3/4" Diameter with HAMS in a Diamond Mark.. Very Fine Condition. HAMS produced some of the finest decorative metal wares of the American Arts & Crafts movement and are in collections at the Martin House, as well as in many public and private collections. The founder of the Otto Heintz Art Metal Shop, Otto Heintz, came from a long line of jewelry manufacturers who established their business in Buffalo, NY in 1875. He was granted multiple patents for his innovative designs, including the groundbreaking method of applying sterling silver to bronze without the use of solder in 1912. The shop's transformation from using copper with enamel decoration to bronze and sterling silver resulted in even more sophisticated and elegant pieces such as vases, bowls, candlesticks, and more.
