Roman segmented plate armor torso. The lorica segmentata was the breastplate of the Roman legionnaire. It literally means "armor in pieces" and had 4 separate sections (right and left torso and shoulder pieces) were buckled, hinged, strapped, tied, etc. by brass fittings.
