It is a broad sampling of the disparate fears, insecurities, and anxieties running through contemporary western society. The texts were culled by the author from numerous websites, message boards, and online community groups where fears around a myriad of issues are discussed. The texts were then edited together to create a narrative, one quote leading into the next, so that as the story moves through different fears (e.g., poverty, loneliness, illness, judgement, violence) it develops into a single narrative by 276 scared and anonymous authors.
