Soft Candle

What are the uses of soft candles / soft grease? Used to reduce swelling, and boils, and may help ease the pain from all the pus accumulated around the wound. An old remedy for boils and swelling. This is an age-old remedy used in the Caribbean region for years.  How to use soft candle / soft grease? You break off a small piece and rub it onto the problem area as if it were an ointment. It breaks down really easily without melting further.  Some of the older folks in the Caribbean would apply it to the affected area and then place a small flame close to it until it's warm.  It is then for several hours depending on how big the splinter is and it really works cause it comes out.  Other Caribbean people especially St Lucians, Grenadians, and Trinidadians would mix the soft candle with menthol, vaseline or coconut oil, and nutmeg to make a rub for the common cold it works wonders.
