Star is a triumph in self-discovery. The debut of singer-songwriter Devin Badgett was born of a synthesis of sincerity, intention, and a broad scope of musical and non-musical interests, ranging from, but not limited to, cloud rap, Japanese adventure games, ambient music, and Southern literature. The album was written, produced, and performed almost entirely by Devin in bedrooms and basements across his home state, Tennessee. With occasional assistance from a few trusted friends and a limited set of tools, Devin was able to realize Henry J. Star's grandiose sonic vision fully.   The Soft Apocalypse weaves together a mosaic as an offering for the end of a world at the end of the world.
