These earrings are eco friendly and 100% biodegradable. They are made from scrap wood (leftover wood after making larger furniture pieces), and gold filled hooks. They are lightweight and intended to make a statement. The earrings have to be oiled regularly so they can last as long as they are meant to. A lot of times, they turn into hand-me-downs or heirloom jewelry. The design was hand carved in Jumuiya. We turned them into finished earrings here in the US. We shop for raw materials in a manner that allows makers to make a larger amount through one transaction with us (we strive to mass order from the artisans that supply us). That is how we empower other makers across the globe. The earrings are 2 1/2" long and a little under 1 1/2" at the widest point. The earrings are a little under 1/4" thick.
