This happens when the wax is melted completely out to the diameter of the jar. This will prolong the life of your candle and keep it from tunneling. *Always trim your wick to 1/4 inch before burning.   *Keep out of the reach of children, pets, drafts, and flammable items and never leave a candle unattended while burning.
