Sheffield – The steel city Lying in the eastern foothills of the Pennines, Sheffield nestles in a natural amphitheatre created by several hills and the confluence of five rivers: Don, Sheaf, Rivelin, Loxley and Porter. Sheffield was the site of several metallurgical innovations, including the process of making stainless still. The old smoking chimney stacks were now replaced by a green, modern cityscape set against the stunning backdrop of the Peak District National Park.
