Cork Fabric Cork is a truly sustainable material because the cork oak tree is left standing in the process of harvesting the bark.  Cork bark is gently removed every decade or so without causing any damage to the cork tree.  The bark is then boiled in water to make it pliable and dyed or printed to add color.  Cork fabric is water-resistant, durable, and light-weight, making it a great alternative to leather.
