Necessity ~ Nauthiz Rune

The image side of this Rune shows short waving bars, with sharp bends. Each bar is touched by arrow shapes that move against the bar from both directions. These shapes create the idea of necessity, aspects of Self that must be attended to, even if the busy action of life seems like it will progress without stopping.  The Symbol side of this piece shows the Nauthiz rune, which represented the sound “n,” as in “need.” This rune is traditionally associated with need, hardship, and constraint. It represents the challenges and necessities of life, reminding us that personal difficulties can be a catalyst for growth and transformation. The rune is also linked to resilience and the human capacity to overcome challenging times. It is a reminder of the strength and determination that lie within us, even in the face of adversity and that even the darkest times can lead to new growth and understanding.
