Resin Wide Band - Focus Within

This wider resin ring has color all the way around, which changes in tone as it flows among the silver dots. The resin is protected by two silver bands, and the tiny silver circles are embedded in the color. The dots themselves are actually spheres which are attached to the silver base and rise up through the resin. This technique, called granulation, is used to create ordered patterns of texture and depth. The Ancient Greeks were masters of granulation and applied it to a wide variety of jewelry forms. The pattern is one of regular lines of dots stacked in a set of three. Although the spheres are evenly spaced, at closer inspection you can see they are all slightly different in placement.
