Hardness Water Test
Recommended for targeted testing of hardness level in drinking water.Water is normally considered “hard” if it contains high levels of dissolved and positively charged minerals, such as calcium and magnesium. It is estimated that 85% of U.S. drinking water has some degree of hardness and while it is not a health hazard, it can have nuisance/aesthetic effects. Signs of hardness include clogged pipes through the formation of mineral deposits (also called "scale), white buildup and residue on fixtures, inability to form a lather or sudsing of soap, damage and malfunctions of water-related equipment like heaters, kettles, and cooling towers. This Tap Score water test package provides all required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results will include detailed, quantified analysis of hardness in drinking water. Included in every Tap Score Essential, Advanced, and Extended test in the City and Well water collections.
