This is an abrasive bar designed to exfoliate dead layers of skin cells, revealing the fresh new skin underneath.  Some refer to this as a polishing bar as it appears to polish the skin.  Even though it exfoliates, it does this gently, making it ideal for most skin types.  I especially love this bar in the summer when I get a light sun burn.  After my skin heals and starts peeling, this bar helps remove the unsightly excess.
