China White Pine Needle
Yunnan, known as the birthplace of tea, is a province in southwestern China that borders Vietnam, Burma, and Laos. Yunnan translates literally to "south of the clouds". Its diverse landscape offers everything from tropical rainforests to mountainous terrain and is home to a wide variety of plant species. The Yunnan region focuses heavily on agricultural production. White Pine Needle is grown in the area of Simao, on the southern slope of Ma Wei Mountain (just west of Pu'Er City) at an altitude of 1300 meters (4300 feet). This exquisite white tea is hand-picked from the buds of the tea plant and processed in the Spring. The beautiful long, silver-green leaves brew to a vegetal aroma with a floral, grassy, sweet, dry taste and a refreshing aftertaste. One of the better white teas we've tasted in quite some time! Brew tea at 180º - steep for 2 minutes. Multiple steepings are possible.
