Stunning headdress, comprised of a double row of connected gilt and silver components of very high content silver and gold wash , culminating in a double row of tassels of silver and gilt leaf like drops.  Afghanistan , late 19th c. Condition: It has two bezels for what seems like glass inlay and those are missing glass,  as well one leaf is damaged without effect to the whole. The design of this appears to be a form of a more ancient style diadem often seen in ancient examples. This headdress at one time probably would have had earrings and nose ring as part of the parure.  This can also be worn successfully as a necklace. It drapes as a bib and is very comfortable.  Published examples:  silver version, Page 148-149   Schmuck in Afghanistan, Alfred Janata  1981
