Having danced on stage with his band at nightclubs Glam Slam and Nells, and appeared in Prince’s music videos Cream and Get Off, the painting spiritually embraces intimate memories and understanding of Prince’s presence and stage magnetism to this work. The irony of Quigley’s early shows with Pop and Postmodern artists such as Warhol, Schnabel, and Basquiat—exhibited in small galleries and nightclubs like the Palladium, Area, and Limeligh
