M101 Gendler Pinwheel

Also called the Pinwheel Galaxy, M101 has several extremely bright star-forming regions (called HII regions) spread across its spiral arms. M101 is so large that its immense gravity distorts smaller nearby galaxies. This is a mosaic image of three separate frames taken with the 12.5" RC at F9,and STL6303 camera. The total exposures were LRGB = 300:30:30:60 minutes
