This song started as just a simple acoustic song and then I just couldn't stop myself lol... Unfortunately we have all been lied to at one point or another in our lives and every lyric in this song is what I see and feel through lies. ~“Not Ready” Written, performed and produced by Bethany Sky Backing vocals by Trevor Stark This song is an indie rock song about the battles of being terminally ill or having someone close to you that is suffering from an illness. The strength you carry in your heart along with the brave face you provide your loved ones to keep them grounded shows in the purest of light how amazing you truly are. This song reflects on feeling all the little things that can sometimes be taken for granted in good health. ~“The Road Home” Written, performed and produced by Bethany Sky The Road Home is an acoustic ballad, I wrote this song after I lost my Mother and drove away from my childhood home knowing I would never return again. ~“Water From Leaves” Guitars: Chris A.K.A H2708 Bass guitar, vocals and lyrics: Bethany Sky Water from Leaves is an all out alternative rocker! Chris, an amazing guitarist from Germany, sent me the riff to this song and I fell head over heals for it! This song is about my childhood and being terribly bullied, I spent most of my time hiding away in the woods up in the trees where I felt free to be me. I would stare at the clouds and make shapes and when it rained I would drink the water drops from the leaves. “Water from Leaves” is my metaphor for nourishment. Children need their dreams to be cultivated and nourished with love that helps build their inner strength. When a child is belittled and bullied something deep inside them stops growing and even dies. This can bring on a lifetime of emptiness and pain. My favorite saying is to “Believe In The Possibilities” and that is exactly what this song is all about. We all have to learn to give up all hope for a better yesterday and no matter what you have gone through in your life NEVER EVER stop believing that you are everything you fight for and everything you believe. ~”Release The Dove” Written, performed and produced by Bethany Sky Release the Dove is an acoustic melodic ballad about letting go of all the pain we can carry in us. I thought it was the perfect title and ending song for my EP because it is my way of saying that no matter what life has thrown at me, I will stay strong and let it go.
