Cincinnati Bearcats x Legacy Collection 19nine’s Legacy Collection dives inside the archives to bring back some college basketball classics. Like the originals, we crafted each Legacy pair of retro shorts with the materials and details to honor the original designs. It was a labor of love in our pursuit to provide an era specific keepsake that celebrates the most iconic styles in college basketball history. '96 Bearcat Legacy It didn't take long for the 1995-1996 to shoot from #21 in the preseason poll to #3 after they started the season on a 12 game winning streak. Bob Huggins Bearcats won both the CUSA regular season and tournament championship which earned them the #2 seed in the Southeast Region of the NCAA Tournament. Led by sophomore forward Danny Fortson, Cincinnati beat UNC Greensboro and Temple to reach the Sweet 16. A win over #3 seed Georgia Tech put the Bearcats one win away from a trip to the Final Four. It wasn't meant to be as UC fell to Mississippi State, 73-63.
