Small portions of cloth are gathered on a hook shaped specifically for this process and continuously  loop-bound with cotton thread to create a soft resist outline on each unit / Ori-nui Shibori - Folded-edge stitch resist drawn tight before dyeing Pattern: Tsubame - Barn swallow, known to symbolize Summer when seen in flight. They nest close to human habitation for protection from other predators. Their nests are protected because swallows help control mosquitoes during the summer months.
