Introducing the NC Pride glass! For those who don't know, the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence was supposedly signed on May 20, 1775, in Charlotte by a committee of citizens of Mecklenburg County, who declared independence from Great Britain after hearing of the battle of Lexington. If the story is true, the Mecklenburg Declaration preceded the United States Declaration of Independence by more than a year. Now that's badass. About the design The NC Pride glass encompasses elements of North Carolina’s state flag. The “N” and “C” flanking a white star, with date-laden banners above and below. It bears the date of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence - May 20, 1775 - which if accurate, places North Carolina at the forefront of the American independence movement. Below is the date of the Halifax Resolves, April 12, 1776.
