Pinot Noir Grape Jam
Wine grapes aren't your usual farmers market find and trying to locate a wine grape grower that hasn't already overcommitted their crop isn't easy either. So, when we were given the opportunity to pick up some Pinot Noir grapes this year from a winery we are working with, we said "yes, please!" While still having a sweet grape flavor that a traditional concord grape jam would have, the pinot noir grape skins impart a good amount of tannins that add a bit of complexity to this new wonderful addition to our line-up. Our delicious jam starts with Pinot Noir wine grapes from the Healdsburg, CA. To the mix, we add pure cane sugar, a little citrus pectin for added gelling and a generous splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice for a little zing to the flavor in this magically intoxicating combination, just without the wine, of course... Enjoy!!
