California's Narrow Leaf Milkweed is the easiest to grow of the western natives. It grows wild from southeast Washington and Idaho through Oregon, California, and into Baja California. It's drought tolerant, and tolerant of a wide range of extremes, from lots of rain to none, rocky soil and even clay. This bushy 3' by 3' perennial has slender stems and long narrow leaves. Clusters of rosey pink blooms cover the plants from June to September. This is strong perennial that returns bigger & better every year. Seeds are very rare. Plant this beauty, feed the monarchs, and make more seeds!
