Scott Deppe, hailing from Idaho, made his way to Bellingham, Washington, a year before venturing into pipe-making. His introduction to blown glass pipes at a Grateful Dead show in 1993 sparked a journey that led him to buy a torch and glass at a local hardware store. Setting up in his living room, Deppe's experimentation resulted in melting spoon pipes, driven by a desire to recreate a cherished piece from the Dead show – a small spoon with a mushroom bead.Self-taught with an early goblet class by Brian Kerkvliet, Deppe is renowned for constant experimentation on the torch, showcasing mind-blowing solo works like "Take Me to the Mothership" and collaborative Team Japan pieces.
