"Vicoli #1" Original Painting 24x36

In the old towns of Italy, alleys (vicoli) wind through the ancient buildings with barely enough room for a small car to fit and sometimes not even that. I love exploring these streets, as much for the feeling of history, but also how the life of the city echoes off the high walls. This painting is inspired by a photo I took in Florence in 2024. I had been to the city a few times over the years and thought it had already given up all its secrets. I was surprised then when I discovered an alley right off Piazza Signoria I had never been down. Just a short way down, I came across this even smaller alley that made for a great photo, but was destined for the canvas. The piece is 24"w x 36"h (61x91cm), 1.5" (4cm) deep, acrylic on canvas, sides painted. Signed lower right canvas side. Not ready to hang. Painting will be packed by artist and shipped free to customer.
