The ST1901 chronograph complication is incorporated into the primary timekeeping mechanism It's the traditional method of movement construction, but it's also trickier. An integrated chronograph calibre is simpler to maintain and service because it works as a single unit. The column wheel on the ST1901 is more labor intensive to construct than the alternative cam actuated approach and calls for extremely exact tolerances.
