In good times and bad times we are called to pray!  God wants to hear from us, and honestly it's more for us than him.   I have come to depend on prayer but honestly had to be taught how valuable it was.  I used to be so anxious, worried, and living in a state of fear because of the lifestyle of my addicted child. Was she dead, hurting, hungry, cold, or being abused?  So many thoughts would create apocalyptic scenarios and my stomach would be in knots.  But I found that if I prayed, and gave it all over to God, allowing him to intervene, heal, protect, and restore, then I could relax and go about my day.  Now, Prayer is my first line of defense whenever anything is bothering me.  It's a peace that goes beyond my understanding.  Prayer works, and I know God hears me! He has rescued and restored my family!  Amen!! PRAYER has been healing for me, and even if I didn't feel like it then I did it anyway.  At my darkest point I couldn't pray at all, only cry.
