The current British Flag has a few other names it goes by, "The Union Flag" and the "Union Jack" it was enacted in 1801 to fly aboard British Ships. Today’s Flag started with the Kings Colors from 1707. These were the Crosses for the patron saints of the countries in the Union at the time. Wales at this time was part of the Union as of 1284 but neither Wales nor their patron Saint David was represented on the flag.
